What is Gel
A common myth about gel for nails, is that it is better for the natural nail and are different to acrylic. But, many gels have the same ingredients as acrylic and are usually a pre mixed acrylic. It is the technician or the clients that damages nails never the product, that is why education and practice are key.
: as quoted by a national education manager, industry insider and has a decade of experience, who has worked with beauty, press and celebrities.
The first type of gel in the industry was hard gel. This type adds strength and length to nails using tips or sculpting. This has to be buffed off.
Next was soak off or soft gels, which can be removed with acetone. They come in a pot and create the perfect natural nail overlay and come in many colours and clients love the chip free wear.
Next onto gel polish. With a natural nail overlay in colour takes about 45 minutes, soak off polishes are much quicker. Gel nail polishes are designed to be applied thin to give a perfect even colour and flawless chip free glossy finish which your nail clients love and is very profitable for your nail salon.
